TrailTrophy Kronplatz 16.9.-18.9.2016<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The last stop of the TrailTrophy at the Kronplatz should also be the last race for the DS-Crew in 2016. Silvio quit his participation due to the bad weather forecast so we got joined by Tobias Steinbach from Rideprogression who we met on Friday morning while riding the Gassl and Herrensteig trail. But this time it came much better than forecasted and so Friday\u00b4s session could held in dry conditions on very dusty ground at local trails around Bruneck. Rain started in the night and it kept raining until the next morning. The organizer of the TT switched the Stages so that we started as planned again on a trail in Bruneck where David tried to imitate Penguins gliding on the whomb into the water,\u00a0 and later on the Gassl trail, left the long Hans for Sunday until it should be dried and instead went down the Herrensteig in 2 sections followed by a CCDuro stage, which the organizer decided to be funny, which it was NOT. David here took a test of the grounds softness, too. Unfortunately Tobias destroyed his rear wheel and deralleur and was not able to finish day 2 and so we had to quit the team rating. Sunday was cloudy but dry and so the planned programm could be done. First the Passo Furcia trail and then down the Herrensteig again, but this time the Hans trail and as 3rd stage the lower part of the Herrensteig and the final roots section. David passed the finishline in 14th of the Open men class and Philip in 30th Master class. As to be mentioned next to the very good choice of trails was the catering over the whole weekend, enough for everyone and really good taste. I guess the Trailtrophy will see us again at the Kronplatz and it\u00b4s well organized and prepared trails and programm!<\/span><\/p>\n

Trailtrophy Latsch 3.-5.6.2016:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

After it was raining so much in the nice Vinschgau the week before the event took place the normaly dusty trails were quite wet but on Friday still good to ride. (that\u00b4s the result when Philip competes in a race) Friday afternoon was opend with the “Bierkellertrail” which served good fun right at the start. Followed by a part of the Trailzauber ridden against the common way to avoid the technical uphills but still a lot flat paddeling sections with a best time in the proclass of 4 minutes. After burning thighs there was a third stage a bit shorter but still very wavy and some unnessecary and very narrow set switchbacks and more soring muscels. After day 1 Philip was on rank 45 and Silvio on 60 in the Mastersclass of good 120 rider. David did quite well and was placed in 47 in the Open Men class. Our friend Felix G\u00f6tzler made it in the top 15 on day one. Again rain set in so the nightride session had to be canceled due to safety reasons. The following day waited with close 900hm to climb after we started in the day\u00b4s first stage down from the castle. Second stage was, what else to expect, again transfering along the slope on a wavy singletrail with short uphills every now and then. Third stage was to be earnd with another climb about 200hm to get in a big switchback massacre, not for everybodys delight! The afternoon session we were shuttled by car up to the Sunny Benny Trail which was divided in 2 stages. The first on the bit more difficult rocky part which finally brought some more fun to the event. 2nd stage was the lower part to the Anaberger B\u00f6den, where Philip thought the splittime was already the finish and took a long break of at least 40 seconds to drink some water and wait for Silvio, wondering why David already went on and took a fullpull down the hill. Silvio passed and made clear that this was not the finishline. This and 3 chainlosses brought Philip back in the 60\u00b4s after day 2. Silvio was around 65th and David 36th. After heavy rainfall started again the event was stopped and the remaining 40 riders had to cancel the last 2 stages of the montesole and a time for those stages was determined for those who could not finish day 2. That brought people who are not so good on fast and rocky trails in a bit of an advantage and the ranking was lightly diced so we lost some places to this, too. Day 3 should be more Downhill from Tarscher Alm but it was still to wet on sunday morning so that the racecommittee canceled stage 1. Stage 2 for sunday was a really nice Downhill of the Roatbrunn Trail. How else could it be the last really trail was again on the Trailzauber with it\u00b4s wavy texture and exhausting uphills some we had to push the bikes with soring lungs. The finish was made by a short improvised slalom on a flat meadow. In the end Silvio was 69th, Philip 62nd in the Mastersclass and David 33rd\u00a0 in the Open Men class. Felix just was held back from the podium by a crash on sunday and ended in 6th. As Team the DeeSasterCrew made a 10th rank after a lot of teams with fully sponsored rider. Not everybody (i think even most competitors) was glad with the choice of trails because Latsch itself offers so many good trails with more flow than forced switchbacks in that high number, but i guess we\u00b4ll be back.<\/span><\/p>\n
